Mike came to First Baptist Church in May 1999. Prior to his call to First Baptist he been pastor of several other churches in the upstate of South Carolina. He is a graduate of North Greenville College, Carson-Newman College (Jefferson City, Tennessee) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Fort Worth, Texas). Mike served from 1970-74 in the U.S. Navy. Our pastor was born is in Greenville, S.C. Mike's wife, Billie, is a fourth grade school teacher for Anderson School District One. The Moody's have two sons, Josh and Adam and daughter-in-law, Katie Moody.
Sam was born in Greenville, SC on October 24, 1956. He grew up there, attending Washington Avenue Baptist Church throughout his early life. He was saved on July 20, 1974 at a summer youth camp. He graduated from Carolina High School in 1974, North Greenville College in 1976, and Liberty Baptist College, Lynchburg, Va. in 1980.
He is married to the former Debra Treadway, and they have two children, Jared, and Joanna. He has served several churches in upstate South Carolina, including Riverside Church in Greer, Washington Baptist Church, Ware Place, where he was ordained to the ministry, Whitefield Baptist Church, Belton, and East Pickens Baptist Church, Pickens. He has been Associate Pastor of Music and Adults at Honea Path First Baptist Church since February of 2002.
Joey joined the HPFBC staff in 2004 as the Associate Pastor/Minister to Students/Singles. He attended Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, in Pineville, Ky. , where he received a BA in Biblical Studies with a Pastoral emphasis. A native of Anderson County, Joey grew up in the small town of Starr.. Joey entered into an eternal relationship with Christ on May 15, 1980 and surrendered to the full time ministry in 1997. Joey is very passionate about the calling God has placed on his life. His desire is to lead young people of all ages, races, and backgrounds into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Once that happens, he wants to do all he can, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, to help them grow in and understand that relationship. He and his wife Gena have four children: Brett, Ike, Hunter and Lagen.

Rita is the Children's Director at Honea Path First Baptist Church. She was born in Jodie, West Virginia, October 3, 1956. She moved to Greenville, SC in 1978. She and her husband, Wayne, moved to Honea Path in 2001. Their family consist of Brian, Will, Will's wife, Brandi, and their children Taytum and Gabe, Ty and Tali. Tali was adopted in 2000 from Ukraine. Rita works as a Media Specialist Assistant at Honea Path Elementary School. Wayne is Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Belton Honea Path High School. They are both involved with The Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Joanne grew up in Honea Path First Baptist Church and was active in the music program. When the pipe organ was purchased she was fortunate to have been given organ lessons along with two adults and one other teenager.
She moved to Spartanburg after marriage and was organist / pianist at two churches. She also worked with children and youth choirs in several churches. She was very active in adult choir and handbell choir in Spartanburg.
Joanne feels extremely blessed to have an opportunity to serve again in the church that provided her the opportunity to take organ lessons.
Allyson grew up in First Baptist Church in Honea Path and was baptized at the age of nine. She and her husband, John, moved to New Orleans in 1993 for him to obtain a Master of Divinity Degree with an emphasis in psychology and counseling. John is a clinical counselor at Anderson-Oconee Behavioral Health Services. When they returned to Honea Path in 2001, they joined HPFBC once again. She joined the staff in her current position in December 2001. Her job responsibilities include clerical support, maintaining financial and membership records, and coordinating two Meals On Wheels routes. She also assists with the Helping Hands Ministry. She is a member of the Adult Choir. The couple has recently been blessed with a wonderful a son, Isaac Paul, born December 17, 2008. Outside of work, she enjoys taking time with her family, reading and photography.
Susan has served as office assistant since August 1990. She grew up in First Baptist Church. Susan's duties include: answering the phone, verifying the church's offerings and making deposits, publishing the newsletter, preparing the bulletin, maintaining the church calendar and the First Line Prayer Line, helping with duplicating the DVDs of the worship services, and assisting with the Helping Hands Ministry of Honea Path. Susan is married to Larry Bannister of Honea Path. They have two children, Travis and Jessica, who are both members of First Baptist Church. Susan's parents are Irene Powell and the late Arnold Powell.
Linda has a Music Degree in Piano from University of North Florida, Jacksonville, Florida. She has 40 plus years experience as church pianist and has taught piano for over 40 years. Linda is married to Brown Setterlind who is a retired Minister of Music.
They have two sons, Carl, who is Minister of Music and Worship at Biltmore Baptist Church, Asheville, NC and John, who is Minister of Music and Worship at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, Weaverville, NC. The Setterlind's have eight grandchildren.
In August of 1969, Betty became church secretary. During the next 33 years, she served as church secretary, financial secretary and administrative assistant. Betty worked with six different pastors and several interim pastors. Each pastor has enriched her life and taught her much about the Lord's work. Betty retired in May of 2002 and in September of 2004 became the church dietician. Betty feels richly blessed in so many ways and will be eternally grateful.
Betty was married to the late Chip Mitchell. They have two children, Susan and Dan.
